In 2024, Edinburgh-based Yatter, a specialist agency in PPC and paid social advertising, was successfully acquired by Velstar, a leading eCommerce agency headquartered in Liverpool. Yatter brings with it a strong portfolio of over 60 clients, including notable names such as Loch Lomond Group and Countrywide. Under the new ownership, all jobs have been retained, and the business continues to operate as a key part of Velstar’s growth strategy. The acquisition also marks a milestone, as Yatter becomes Scotland’s only Shopify Plus partner agency, reinforcing its reputation as a performance-led digital specialist.
Our role
Hybrid Legal was proud to act on behalf of the sellers, primarily founder Gavin Bell, throughout the transaction. Our Corporate and M&A team, led by Mike Duggan and Shelly Stemp, provided end-to-end legal support – from early-stage structuring through to completion. The deal involved complex disclosures and negotiations, where our team worked to ensure a smooth and successful outcome for all parties involved.
