Did you know that the Government publishes guideline hourly rates for solicitors and lawyers?

These rates, last updated in January 2024, give you a good idea of what qualified legal experts will typically charge in different regions across England and Wales.

According to the HM Courts & Tribunals Service, if you want a solicitor with over eight years of experience, you’re looking at paying between £546 and £272 per hour, depending on where you are.

Now, let’s talk about us – we’re based in Hampshire, falling under the National 1 band, where the guideline rate is set at £278 per hour. However, our hourly rate starts at a competitive £250 reflecting our commitment to offering quality legal services at a reasonable cost.

How can we do this?

Our team operates differently from traditional law firms. Many of our solicitors work remotely on a flexible basis. They are well supported by using the latest technology rather than armies of paralegals, support assistants, and secretaries. This results in lower overhead costs and these savings are passed on to our clients in the form of reduced fixed fees.

Our straightforward approach also extends beyond our fixed-fee pricing, we like to keep things simple when it comes to our advice – no confusing jargon. We speak in plain English, making sure our advice is crystal clear – there are no stuffy, pompous lawyers here!
