Daniel Woodham founded Chrome Telecom in 2014 and it has since grown to be one of the UK’s fastest growing telecommunications specialists. Daniel told us his motivations for founding the company and what attracted him to Hybrid Legal.
Why did you start Chrome Telecom?
I founded Chrome Telecom because I was frustrated with the telecoms industry and wanted to create a company that forged a new path in this field. I couldn’t make change in the telecoms company I was working for at the time, so I decided to start afresh and create a telecoms company that met my own aspirations and ideals in this industry.
What has been your most satisfying moment in the business to date?
I wouldn’t pinpoint a specific moment but will say that watching the development of my staff has been hugely rewarding. I’ve had the opportunity to help my team develop both in work and on personal levels. Helping my team meet their goals and overcome personal challenges such as anxiety, has been truly satisfying and to be appreciated for helping them even more so.
If you could pass on one key tip to our clients for their business what would it be?
I would say transparency is key. Particularly in the telecoms world! I’ve found that being open and transparent with your customers from the outset is always the best policy.
Why did you engage with Hybrid? What did you find appealing?
As a general rule, I’ve found lawyers to be sharky. It seems that most law firms will take on any work, knowing that they will be paid regardless of whether there is any merit in pursuing the work in question. What I like about Hybrid is that they give honest, practical advice and so you always know where you stand.
How have Hybrid helped Chrome?
Hybrid were able to help us when we needed to make changes to the management structure of the business, in what was quite a challenging and short time frame. Through the health check process they’ve also assisted us in ensuring our legal compliance and our Client Partner has been on hand to assist us in a number of commercial matters as well.
