Hybrid Legal is among 250 firms in the UK to benefit from targeted TV advertising supported by Sky Media. In a boost to small-to-medium enterprises during the Covid-19 crisis, the advertising sales arm of broadcaster Sky has invested £2.5 million in its SME 250 Support Scheme.

Hybrid Legal, which operates out of Southampton and is disrupting the legal sector with a fixed-fee model, is among the businesses selected for the campaign. With AdSmart technology, different ads can be shown to different Sky households even though they are viewing the same programme.

Aimed at a targeted audience and based on factors such as location, age groups and lifestyle, Hybrid Legal’s advert will be aired throughout July. Ryan Lisk, the founder of Hybrid Legal, said: “TV ads are a powerful promotional tool but are simply beyond budget for most SMEs.”

“With Sky Media’s SME 250 Support Scheme, Hybrid Legal can now advertise to a selected audience of 40,000 Sky households in the Home Counties. We are targeting households with business owners and decision makers who would benefit from our legal expertise and transparent pricing. Our TV advert pokes fun at traditional law firms and their typical advertising, where lawyers ‘power walk’ along corridors in expensive city centre skyscrapers and look super serious (most purposeful didn’t sound right). But what isn’t funny is that traditional law firm clients are paying for that luxury real estate in legal fees, whereas Hybrid Legal is disrupting the legal market with fixed fees and the high-quality advice of a premium law firm without costly overheads.”

Ryan added: “We appreciate the support of Sky Media, with the scheme attracting more than 1,300 entries from SMEs such as Hybrid Legal.”

“SMEs are the backbone of the UK economy. Official figures show there were 5.9 million SMEs last year, representing 99% of all businesses. Given subsequent events, culminating in the national lockdown and the largest hit to the economy since the Second World War, SMEs need as much help as possible in order to get the wheels of commerce turning again. AdSmart will help 250 companies with that. Whilst the Hampshire market is important to us, we are keen to show companies in other counties what we can do to benefit their businesses in the recovery and beyond.”

In a separate development, the law firm, which works for 500+ businesses, has received its 50th Google 5-star review for customer service.

Hybrid Legal has 11 solicitors and associates and is supported by an internal core team of five. Services include advising on company structures, data protection, drafting and advising on commercial contracts, protecting intellectual property and providing a wide range of employment law-related support and services.

One of Hybrid Legal’s leading services is Legal Plus, which allows companies to spread the costs of advice across the year, with a dedicated client partner on hand.
